The wool market was solid this week, with 17,000 bales for sale in the Sydney and Melbourne auctions. Fremantle did not sell this week. The southern market indicator finished at 1152, an increase of 9 cents for the week. There seems to be more depth to the market with the off types; tender, colour and stains, selling better. The carding indicator finished at 879, an increase of 7 cents for the week. Taking into account the smaller offerings leading up to the new season, there could be some gains.
